This was discussed during a conversation between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie.
“I assured Minister Dmytro Kuleba that the Ukrainian people can count on Canada’s unwavering support,” Jolie wrote on Twitter.
According to her, during the conversation, they discussed the situation with the build-up of Russian forces “in and near Ukraine”, as well as “our joint commitment to bring Iran to justice for the destruction of the PS752.”
As a reminder, on January 8, 2020, an UIA plane was shot down in Iran, performing flight PS752 on the Tehran-Kiev route. On board were citizens of Ukraine, Canada, Sweden, Iran, Afghanistan and Great Britain. All 176 people died.
Iranian authorities on January 11, after several days of denials, admitted that the Ukrainian plane had been mistakenly shot down by an anti-aircraft missile system.
On November 22, 2021, the Iranian military court began hearings in this case.
As reported, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a conversation with the White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
They discussed, in particular, general concerns about “Russia’s continuing military activity near the border with Ukraine and its harsh rhetoric towards Ukraine.”
