kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – December 14,2021- President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview that the purchase of anti-drone guns and anti-sniper systems by NATO, which was banned by Germany, is necessary for Ukraine exclusively in defense.
“Germany has recently prevented us from supplying NATO with anti-aircraft guns and anti-sniper systems, which are purely defense instruments. Are we not entitled to them in the eighth year of the war? Obviously we are. Any democracy that protects itself from aggression. should have the right to purchase such defense instruments. But in some capitals, fear still prevails, “Zelensky said.
The President stressed that Ukraine sees no surprises in the events on the eastern borders, adding that Russia started the war in 2014, and since then Ukraine is ready for any scenario. However, he expressed the opinion that this cannot be said of all European countries.
“What is the use of troops gathered near our border? This is the potential for blackmail. And especially against Western countries. But if the number of Russian troops increases, blackmail will become even more severe, which can be called preparation for increased aggression against our country and perhaps the region as a whole, “the head of state stressed.
Earlier , Bild reported that Germany had been using NATO’s mechanism since May 2021 to prevent other Allies from selling weapons to Ukraine for defense.
