Note that this law establishes the legal basis for activities in the field of electronic communications and radio spectrum. It defines the powers of the state to manage and regulate these activities, as well as the rights, duties and responsibilities of individuals and legal entities that participate in activities or use electronic communications services.
According to experts, the document provides protection of subscribers’ rights, as well as simplifies licensing procedures for companies. Subscribers will have the opportunity to settle disputes between the subscriber and the operator out of court, and businesses will have fewer bureaucratic obstacles to the introduction of new technologies.
What was before
In December 2020, after the veto of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Verkhovna Rada passed a bill on electronic communications.
In January 2021, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on electronic communications.
