Store-bought white flour bakery products should not be available in the daily diet, nutritionists said. One of the reasons for this is the high concentration of sugar, as a result of which people who regularly eat white bread may have impaired pancreatic function.
“The sugar in white bread depletes the pancreas, because it secretes a lot of insulin. Eventually, insulin resistance may develop. In this case, sugar rises and begins to literally erode the walls of blood vessels,” – said experts.
Doctors added that when high sugar levels begin to damage the condition of blood vessels, a person becomes prone to potentially dangerous pathologies, including high cholesterol and the development of atherosclerosis, hypertension, dementia.
“Cardiologists emphasize that bread can be painlessly eliminated from the diet when it comes to high-grade flour products.”
Another distinctive feature of white store bread is a high glycemic index (GI). Consumption of foods with high GI is associated with overweight and obesity, the development of type 2 diabetes. In addition, doctors added, this product may contain margarine, trans fats.
It is best to eat home-made bread, watching its quantity.
