According to the People’s Deputy, thanks to the approved package of bills, the cost of goods that Ukrainians will be able to buy from abroad without paying VAT and duties will increase from 100 to 150 euros per person.
“During the pandemic, when much of the service went online and became in high demand among citizens, e-commerce was no exception. For example, the volume of goods ordered by Ukrainians from abroad has already exceeded 60 million parcels a year, “said Igor Abramovich, who is a co-author of the bills.
According to the People’s Deputy, the implementation of the bills will not only make foreign goods more accessible to citizens, but also automate the process of their customs clearance and control.
“Introduction of electronic declaration of goods and determination of postal operators and express carriers responsible for accrual and payment of tax and customs payments to the budget will not only speed up customs formalities, but also increase the efficiency of customs control over the movement of such goods,” he said.
At the same time, according to Abramovich, raising the limit on duty-free delivery of goods from abroad and the transition to an automated process of customs clearance should, among other things, increase resistance to illegal import of goods into Ukraine.
