Leave dirty dishes in the sink with water
A warm and humid environment is the best place for very dangerous bacteria. Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli and even Salmonella – all these little killers feel great in a sink with warm water and dirty dishes. And then spread from there on the kitchen surfaces, the floor, the whole house … Do you really want to watch this “horror movie” to the end?
Drink coffee from a coffee machine
Especially one that is located in a public place – such as an office. Especially if its flask is designed for more than one serving. The fact is that different groups of bacteria quickly accumulate and actively multiply in the coffee machine tank: you will not believe it, but in the flask of a standard office coffee machine there are more bacteria than on the handle of your home toilet. Do you still want to drink a cup of coffee? Then at least wash the flask well before cooking!
Dry your hands under an automatic dryer
The results of a study conducted this spring are literally shocking: in the usual hand dryers installed in toilets in public places, bacteria accumulate so much that they can infect a small town. And they not only accumulate, but also actively spread with the help of warm air and get, for example, into the lungs. Don’t take any chances, dry your hands with paper towels!

Hats, gloves, scarves – how often do you wash or clean these little things? Doctors recommend doing this at least once every two weeks: they come into contact with the face and respiratory system too often, and the microbes that accumulate on them easily get into the body. If you often catch a cold in the cold season, try to wash scarves and hats with gloves more often – it should help!
It is incorrect to cut products before cooking
Wrong – this means on the same cutting board. According to microbiologist Charles Geb, the average board “lives” 200 times more dangerous bacteria than the toilet seat. However, even if the expert is wrong, you should not take risks: after working with meat, poultry or fish on the board are salmonella and campylobacter – the two most common causes of food poisoning. Use different boards for different products and prefer glassware – it is easier to wash.
Do not use a mobile phone case
Mobile phones are too often dangerously close to our respiratory system to take risks: 10 times more dangerous bacteria accumulate on the surface of a regular mobile phone than in a public toilet. To minimize the risk, you should regularly wipe the phone with disinfectant wipes, as well as carry it in a case and, in extreme cases – pockets, so that the phone is less in contact with other surfaces.
