Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – March 19, 2022- The two US companies, Halliburton and Schlumberger Oil, decided to suspend operations and cooperate with Russia in response to US sanctions due to Russia’s war on Ukraine.
This decision came after the mass exodus of energy, retail and consumer goods, as well as a series of bans by the European Union and the United States on supplying Russia with oil technology or importing its energy products.
Schlumberger has halted new investments and technology deployments while continuing to operate in compliance with international law and sanctions, the company said in a statement. Oil services provider Baker Hughes declined to comment on its operations in Russia.
Energy companies BP PLC, Shell, Equinor ASA and Exxon Mobil have announced plans to suspend and withdraw from operations in Russia.
