Ukraine, Ukraine gate- March 28, 2022- The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognized the best film of 2021, “CODA: In the Rhythm of the Heart”, which won a gold statuette in the main category of the 94th ceremony of one of the world’s most prestigious film awards “Oscar”.
“CODA: In the Rhythm of the Heart” is an American film directed by Sian Heather. He tells the story of a girl from a small town in Massachusetts who wants to become a singer, but can not leave his family, all members of which are deaf. Many deaf characters in the film are played by deaf actors.
In total, at this year’s Oscars, CODA: In the Rhythm of the Heart won in all three categories: Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Picture.
In total, ten films competed in the nomination this year. In addition to the announced winner, Alley of Horror, Belfast, West Side Story, Dune, King Richard, King’s Pizza, Don’t Look Up, Don’t Get Driving My Car competed for the Oscars. and “In the hands of a dog.”
The creative team of the film won three Oscars at once – in addition to the best film, also for “Best Adapted Screenplay” and “Best Supporting Actor”.
The title of best actor deservedly won Will Smith, who played the lead role in the film “King Richard”.
At the same time, the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress went to Ariana DeBoss for “West Side Story.”
Encanto was named the best full-length animated film, and the best short animated film was The Windshield Wiper.
As expected, the technical awards for “Best Sound” and “Best Editing” went to “Dune”. The film also won in the category of “Best Music for a Movie”, but the best song, according to the jury, is “It’s Not Time to Die” from the James Bond film of the same name.
It is noteworthy that this year’s record holder in the number of nominations “In the hands of a dog”, which was nominated for the award in 12 categories, received only one statuette (“Best Director’s Work”).
