During its chairmanship of the OSCE in 2021, Sweden will contribute to the resolution of the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the Chairperson of the Permanent Delegation of Sweden to the OSCE Ulrika Funred.
Conflict resolution will be a key priority for Sweden, Funred said, as they pose a great risk to overall security.
“The conflict in Ukraine remains a serious challenge to the European order based on security. It is important to support the search for a stable solution within the framework of OSCE principles and commitments,” said Funéred.
She added that this must be done with full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
The head of the Swedish delegation to the OSCE also stressed that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission should have unhindered access to the entire territory of Ukraine.
“The special monitoring mission must be able to carry out the necessary measures without restrictions throughout Ukraine,” she said.
