The International Biathlon Federation suspends Russia and Belarus from the organization

Ukraine, Ukraine gate- March 29, 2022- The International Biathlon Federation took a tough decision against Russia and Belarus, as the Federation suspended the membership of the Biathlon Federation in Russia and Belarus due to the all-out Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Where both federations have violated the humanitarian obligations of members under the ITU constitution, such violations are detrimental to the reputation of the IBF and all biathlons, and their active membership will undermine the efforts of the Federation and its members to advance their constitutional principles and goals.
The Executive Committee will also continue to monitor the situation and is ready to review the decision in the event of a change in circumstances.
It is possible that the decision will also be considered by the IBU Conference at a meeting on 15-19 September 2022, unless it is overturned in advance by the Executive Committee.
The International Transport Federation has excluded the Russian and Belarusian athletes from all international competitions under the auspices of the organization.
