Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 12, 2022- The British Foreign Office issued a statement calling on its nationals to leave Russia immediately, and urging them not to travel throughout Russia due to the lack of flight options available to return to Britain and the increasing instability in the Russian economy.
The ministry also warned citizens that there are no direct flights from Russia to the United Kingdom and European Union countries, as they can leave Russia by connecting flights through the Middle East and Turkey, as well as buses to the Baltic countries with a subsequent trip to Britain.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also warns of the risk of a sharp devaluation of the Russian ruble, inflation and the suspension of MasterCard and Visa cards in Russia.
The State Department also warned that a citizen would not be able to withdraw money through Russian banks or make payments to Russian companies using credit cards.
The ministry also said that in some regions including the North Caucasus, consular support was very limited due to security issues, and warned of the risk of terrorist attacks, recalling Russia’s non-recognition of Russia’s temporary occupation and entry into Crimea.
