According to the JRS, several pro-Russian Telegram channels covering the Russian war against Ukraine reported on the “collection and prompt deployment of volunteers” to the Mariupol district to help Donbass residents.
It is noted that only stress-resistant men over the age of 18 without serious chronic diseases are recruited for the 14-day mission. Persons in this category must bring “a passport, personal hygiene items, a sleeping bag and change of clothes”.
“Experts of the Center do not rule out that such propaganda work of Russians is one of the elements of the mechanism of covert mobilization -” fraudulent “mobilization, when a person does not realize that he is sent to the area of hostilities for direct participation in them,” the JRS said.
