On the World Football Day, the reconstructed stadium of the Specialized Children’s and Youth School of the Olympic Football Reserve “Youth” in Chernihiv was opened under the President’s Program “25 Sports Magnets”. The site of the Chernihiv regional state administration informs about it.
“From now on, 776 young football players from Chernihiv region have the opportunity to play sports in modern, comfortable conditions and achieve significant results. It will be convenient for both coaches and athletes to work. All household amenities are equipped,” the statement reads.
According to Andriy Pavelko, a good system approach was demonstrated during the project implementation.
“This is a good example of how the state should take care of its children,” he said.
“Of course, the difference between what was and is today is impressive. The guys only have to work and train hard. They did a wonderful job. Everything is for children to go to sports school with pleasure, train and show high results,” Mykola Yaromolenko, Andriy Yarmolenko’s father, shared his impressions.
The facility has:
standard football field with artificial grass;
athletics core (8 lanes 400 m and sectors with artificial turf);
grandstands for 3,000 seats;
two playgrounds with artificial turf;
training camp;
platform for cross-fit.
The facility is also fully inclusive.
Yunost Stadium is 40 years old. This is the first modernization of the arena since 1975. It will host city, regional, national and international competitions in men’s and women’s football and athletics, as well as train students of SDYUSHOR in football, the complex CYSS of the Department of Education and Science and the regional SHVSM in game sports.
“Ukrainian” magnets “provide for the construction of museums dedicated to modern outstanding athletes. The Chernihiv facility is no exception. There is a museum of the history of local football with a separate exhibition dedicated to the pupil of CYSS “Youth” Ukrainian football player, player of the national team and English football club “West Ham” Andriy Yarmolenko.
