“We are pursuing a very ambitious policy to reduce our dependence on fossil fuel imports from Russia. This summer we will stop importing Russian coal, stop importing Russian oil by the end of the year and sharply reduce gas imports from Russia,” Scholz said .

The chancellor said that Russia’s war in Ukraine had serious consequences for the world economy, affecting, for example, wheat supplies and food security around the world.
“Germany, as head of the G7, supports our partners in mitigating the effects of Russia’s war on global food security,” Olaf Scholz said.
