The video shows the groom Victor circling his beloved Oksana in his arms in the hospital ward. A 23-year-old nurse from Lysychansk lost her legs in late March. The woman turned to warn her lover of the danger, and a second later a mine exploded under her.
The tragedy happened on March 27. Oksana and Victor were returning home on a familiar path. She was ahead, he was behind her. There was an explosion. Victor was not miraculously injured, but Oksana tore off her legs and four fingers of her left hand.
The woman received first aid at Lysychanska Hospital. There she underwent four operations at once. Then Oksana was evacuated to the Dnieper, where her wounds were healed and her limbs were prepared for prosthetics. And a week ago she arrived in Lviv by evacuation train. Ahead of the patient – rehabilitation and prosthetics.
But life should not be postponed, decided Oksana and Victor, who for six years together have not found time for marriage. And this despite the fact that they are raising two children. The wedding rings were bought in Lviv, where she was found wearing a white dress. The cake was baked by volunteers. The ceremony took place in the Registry Office, and the celebration – in the ward of our Center for Surgery.
