Ukraine needs a permanent “mechanism” to coordinate promises and arms supplies between the Western allies. This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with the Financial Times .

According to Kuleba, in order to defeat Russia, Ukraine’s allies had to deprive it of oil and gas revenues “in order to park a Russian military vehicle.”
The minister said they also needed to improve the “timing and sustainability” of arms supplies.
“If the battle continues today and howitzers and drones arrive tomorrow, it should not be so,” Kuleba said.
He stressed Ukraine’s resilience in the first phase of the invasion, when it repulsed Russia’s attempt to seize Kyiv.
According to Kuleba, the fact that Ukraine has proven its “reliability” using anti-tank weapons and “Stinger” ground-to-air missiles sent by the West was a “turning point” in Western perception.
“Ukraine needs a permanent” mechanism “to coordinate promises and arms supplies between Western allies so that donors do not make special promises from their stockpiles,” Kuleba said.
According to him, this would mean the development of a “new dynamic” achieved when US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin rallied NATO members last month to increase arms, caliber and range supplies.
Kuleba said that during the battle for Donbas, the focus was on the need for artillery, including howitzers, which the country received, as well as rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
He expressed hope that Kyiv would receive American-made systems, not Soviet-era Grads, before the US Congress approved a $ 33 billion package of economic and military aid expected by the end of May.
“The promise was made,” Kuleba said.
Addition
On Monday, May 9, US President Joe Biden signed the federal law on land lease for Ukraine.
The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to introduce a lease for Ukraine. The law was supported by 417 congressmen, 10 people opposed. All opponents of the Lend-Lease are representatives of the Republican Party. The law provides for a significant acceleration of arms, transport, food and aid supplies to Ukraine from the United States.
