“The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of railway services, which provides for the resumption of railway traffic on the section Berezine (Ukraine) – Basarabeasca (Moldova),” the statement said.
According to the project, Ukraine will establish a railway connection with Moldova bypassing Transnistria and will receive additional logistics opportunities for export / import of products through Romanian ports.
After signing the Memorandum, Ukrzaliznytsia and Moldavska Zaliznytsia will agree and sign a contract for the works.

The Berezine-Basarabyaska railway section on the territory of Ukraine was dismantled in 1997, and in 1999 the section between Rotove and Raukhivka stations on the above-mentioned line bypassing Odessa was closed .
