In his column for the Western media, Ermak addressed Ukraine’s allies, the leaders of the G7 countries, who are considering further actions against Russia at the summit today.
In particular, he stressed that Ukraine needs to be rebuilt with funds confiscated from Russia. That will be correct. But the current sanctions are not enough to win. They need to be strengthened.
“I understand that the current sanctions are worth a lot to our allies. I also know that some people are beginning to wonder if it is worth their effort: I suspect that someone might think that the invasion of Ukraine is nothing more than a quarrel in a distant country, between people they know nothing about. ” Said Ermak.
He stressed that our struggle today is a struggle of Western countries as well, because our lost lives will become the lost lives of Europeans if we lose.
“If Russia wins, the security of the West and the international order based on the rules that are upheld will be destroyed. And Russia will not stop … The West needs to double the existing restrictions. It is necessary to strengthen energy sanctions, extend them to gas exports, impose restrictions on the entire banking system of Russia, “Yermak said.
The head of the OP added that we can defeat Russia with the help of large-scale sanctions and strengthening military support for Ukraine.
“We need military parity with Russia, which should give Ukraine the opportunity to resist the usual aggression and make its price unacceptable for Russia,” Yermak added.
He stressed that Russia should be recognized as a sponsor of terrorism for all crimes in Ukraine.
“We need to show strength in unblocking our ports. And give Ukraine more heavy weapons. If this is not done, Russia will understand it as a weakness, and it will not stop. Today we need strength to defeat the Kremlin, “Yermak concluded.
