It was previously reported that on the evening of July 16, a cargo plane of a Ukrainian carrier with eight people on board crashed near the city of Kavala in northern Greece.
State television ERT noted that it was an An-12 plane of the Ukrainian company flying from Serbia to Jordan. The pilot requested an emergency landing due to an engine problem, but the aircraft’s signal was lost.
A representative of the Civil Protection Service of Greece suggested on ERT that the plane could have carried 12 tons of toxic materials.
