Despite the fact that the line of top smartphones Huawei Mate 40 is already quite rich and includes four models (Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS Porsche Edition), the company is preparing another novelty in the series. It’s about the Huawei Mate 40E. This smartphone, marked with the catalog number OCE-AN00, is highlighted in the database of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which certifies wireless chargers. As you can see, the “power output” of such a charge in the Mate 40E is 5 watts. Earlier, Huawei OCE-AN00 has already distinguished itself in the TENAA database, thanks to which there are data on other characteristics of the Mate 40E.
And here the single-crystal system comes to the fore. The Mate 40E uses an octa-core CPU with a frequency of 2.86 GHz. The frequency of the Kirin 9000E SoC used in the base Mate 40 is 3.13 GHz, which suggests that the Mate 40E is built on another SoC. Most likely, the smartphone uses Kirin 990E 5G, a similar single-chip system is used in Mate 30E Pro 5G.
Why did Huawei need to create and certify a Mate 40 clone based on the old single-chip system? Apparently, this is due to the lack of Kirin 9000 and the relatively large amount of available Kirin 990: Huawei is even going to release a laptop on Kirin 990, although in the current situation the company can not scatter available SoC, because to make them, due to spring US sanctions.
As for other features of the Mate 40E, the smartphone received a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2376 × 1080 pixels, a 13 MP front camera and a main camera with sensors of 50.16 and 8 MP, as well as a battery with a capacity of 4100 mAh and Android 10.
There are many options for memory: RAM – 6, 8 or 12 GB, flash memory – 128, 256 or 512 GB. It is unknown when the Mate 40E will be released. But with all the features of the usual Mate 40, this model should be cheaper. So the Mate 40E will be the most affordable representative of the Mate 40 series.
