The message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation states that Russia “officially invited experts from the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.”
As the Russian agency claims, this is allegedly done “in the interest of conducting an objective investigation of the attack on the pre-trial detention center in Olenivka, which led to the death of a large number of Ukrainian prisoners of war.”
The explosions took place on the territory of the industrial zone in a newly built building, which was supposed to be specially equipped to hold prisoners brought out of “Azovstal”. The equipment of the building was completed 2 days ago, after which some of the detained Ukrainian defenders were transferred to it.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that Russian troops deliberately fired at a colony in the temporarily occupied Olenivka of the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian prisoners were held.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, approximately 40 people died, 130 were injured.
The SBU intercepted telephone conversations in which the occupiers confirm that the Russian troops are to blame for this tragedy.
