Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – December 28, 2020 – Society
At the end of December, the public award “Woman of the Year” is traditionally presented, which is awarded to our compatriots who have shown not only high professionalism, but also made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the state. This year, the nominee for the award was an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Assistant Head of the Center for Clinical Work of the VMCC of the Eastern Region Oksana Popova.
Oksana Popova received a high public assessment of her professional activity for conducting a number of training programs for military doctors on emergency ultrasound diagnosis of injuries during the sorting of sick and wounded, which were conducted during the year in military medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense in Kyiv, Odessa, Vinnytsia, Dnipro. Chief Surgeon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel of the Medical Service Konstantin Humeniuk. Due to the high efficiency and application of modern teaching methods, these programs are in great demand, are widely popular and in great demand among doctors of civilian medical institutions.
Oksana Popova is a member of the board of the European Association of Surgeons, the head of the public organization “ELLING Training Center”, which conducts advanced training of doctors on the basis of the VMCC of the Eastern region, has the qualification Health Cluster Coordinator of the World Health Organization.
The training projects and programs initiated by Oksana Popova aim to spread the world’s best practices in providing emergency care to Ukrainian civilian and military doctors.
According to Oksana Popova, this year more than 200 military medics and about 300 of their civilian colleagues have been trained according to programs approved at the international level. These include ultrasound diagnostic protocols that are part of NATO standards (including NATO STANDARD AJP-4.10 ALLIED JOINT DOCTRINE FOR MEDICAL SUPPORT) for emergency care.
- The introduction of these programs has not only been a good help to military medics, who have been able to undergo in-service training, which has become especially important during the pandemic and in light of the ever-increasing workload on military doctors. This became the cornerstone of further development of civil-military cooperation. After all, the high interest in mastering these protocols, which is shown by civilian doctors, leads to the formation of a common vision and understanding of the procedure for providing care, the formation of continuity between military and civilian health care facilities. In general, military algorithms are characterized by brevity, extreme specificity, the presence of a clear sequence. Of course, this is useful for everyone who works in the field of emergency medical care. Next year we plan to continue training programs.
