According to Dr. Kevin O’Connor, after the negative test, Biden will return to public activities and travel. The president left for his country home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Sunday morning.
“I feel great,” Biden, 79, told reporters outside the White House after leaving for Rehoboth Beach.
What preceded
Biden first came out of isolation on July 27 after testing positive for COVID-19 for the first time on July 21. He tested positive again on July 30.
A negative result would allow Biden to go ahead with a planned trip to Kentucky on Monday and attend a signing of the bill at the White House next week.
Biden had mild symptoms, including body aches and a cough, during his initial stage of COVID-19. The president is vaccinated and revaccinated against the disease.
