The American television channel CBS apologized for a documentary with information that weapons supplied by the West allegedly do not fully reach the Ukrainian military. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, approved such a step, but demands an investigation into who is responsible for spreading unsubstantiated statements that undermine confidence in the supply of military aid to Ukraine .
Details
“We have deleted a tweet promoting our recent documentary Arming Ukraine, which quoted Blue-Yellow founder Jonas Ohman as estimating in late April that only about 30% of aid was reaching the front lines in Ukraine. Since then, according to Oman, delivery has improved. In addition, the US military confirmed that Defense Attaché Brigadier General Garrick M. Harmon arrived in Kyiv in August for arms control and monitoring. We are updating our documentary to reflect this new information and to air later,” CBS News said on Twitter.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to such a move.
“I welcome the first step, but it is not enough. You have misled a huge audience by sharing unsubstantiated claims and undermined the credibility of the supply of vital military aid to a people resisting aggression and genocide. There must be an internal investigation into who did this and why “, Kuleba emphasized on Twitter.
Before
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, denied the information presented in the CBS documentary. Podolyak said that Russia wants to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the West and block support by making allegations about the “black market of weapons”.
