“There is a constant conflict in power in Russia today. Moreover, the issue of the heir to the Kremlin is still relevant. It can be considered that this (the change of the deputy prime minister – ed.) is another purge. Because Putin tries to make such sweeps from time to time in order to strengthen himself in a certain way. Because he is afraid for his power. To this day, there is still no heir and these wars are being waged without end.
I wouldn’t say that Manturov is Putin’s heir, but he is his confidant, a pure careerist who was specially raised by Putin and meets all his requirements,” said Okhrimenko.
Who is Manturov?
Denys Manturov is a Russian politician who was previously the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. In 2021, he officially became the richest member of the Russian government, declaring an income of 704.6 million rubles and a Tesla car. He is also a business partner of the well-known Chemezov family in the Russian Federation.
In particular, Serhii Chemezov is the general director of the Rostec corporation and one of Putin’s closest confidants. Relations between Chemezov and Manturov are very old. They met at the time when the current deputy prime minister married his wife Natalya, whose father Yevhen Kysel was a former representative of Aeroflot in India and a close friend of the chairman of Rostech Serhii Chemezov.
After marrying Kisil’s daughter, Manturov’s affairs immediately went up. In 2003, he became the general director of Oboronprom, in 2007 – the deputy minister of industry and energy of the Russian Federation. A year later, Manturov was appointed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, and in 2012 Manturov was appointed Minister of Industry and Trade. And already in 2022, after the start of the war, it was Denys Manturov who was elected deputy head of the Russian government.
Manturov’s entourage
During his entire career, Manturov constantly accumulated various dark personalities around him. These include, in particular, State Duma deputy from the CPRF Serhiy Gavrilov, oligarch and owner of “Fosagro” Denys Guryev, and scandalous businessman, ex-director of “Uralchim” Dmytro Mazepin.
Manturov planned to make the latter the chairman of the supervisory board of the All-Russian Swimming Federation in his place. And in general – he constantly “knuckled” and helped in business. Including during the raiding of the “TogliattiAzot” enterprise, which was of interest to Mazepin for more than a decade.
With the help of Manturov, Mazepin could put pressure on the courts , bribe witnesses, and in the end took TolyattiAzot for himself completely.
