As noted, Erdogan expressed his condolences on the death of the former president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev and emphasized his “significant role in the recent history of Russia and the whole world.”
According to the press service of the Kremlin, the presidents of the two countries discussed “the issue of further development of multi-faceted cooperation between Russia and Turkey”, and also “confirmed their willingness to expand trade and economic ties, in particular, the promotion of joint strategic projects in the field of energy.”
In addition, Putin and Erdogan talked about Ukraine.
“The situation in Ukraine was also affected. Recep Tayyip Erdogan (allegedly – ed.) noted the constructive role of Russia in the organization of the IAEA mission to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
