Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 2, 2021 – Policy
The Ukrainian side in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) hopes for close cooperation with Sweden, which has taken over the OSCE chairmanship.
“Today, the Kingdom of Sweden begins its one-year chairmanship of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe). The new chair, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, has already announced that the Swedish OSCE Chairmanship will support the work of the Normandy Format and the Trilateral Contract Group with the aim of restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, “the delegation said.
They called it symbolic that Linde plans to make her first foreign visit in a new role to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation hopes that this visit will be a good opportunity for the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to see firsthand the consequences of the ongoing armed aggression and the temporary occupation of a part of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
“Sweden has traditionally supported Ukraine and is one of our biggest friends. Therefore, we look forward to close cooperation in this new format for our countries in 2021,” the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG noted.
