As a result of an accident with a large chain carousel in the Czech city of Havirov, at least 17 people were injured.

As noted, the accident happened around 3:15 p.m. in the city center. It was a more extreme version of the chain carousel. The structure with seats rose above the central column to a height of about 15 meters.
It is emphasized that during the descent, the rotation should have ended, but due to a technical malfunction, this did not happen.
Police said people were injured when the ride went down but continued to spin.
“They were injured because they crashed into the railing. We are investigating what exactly happened,” said a representative of the Moravian-Silesian Police.
The representative of the emergency services added that five ambulance teams arrived at the scene. Most of the victims received injuries of light and medium severity. The injuries of two people are serious, but nothing threatens their lives.
