Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 3, 2021 – Economy
The procedure for signing an agreement on the construction of an energy bridge from Ukraine to Europe, due to which it is planned to export electricity from Unit 2 of Khmelnitsky NPP, was postponed.
P. Kotin, President of the State Enterprise NNEGC Energoatom said that the corresponding procedure for signing the agreement was postponed for several months, to mid-2021. The project is almost ready, and all that remains is to sign the document. This should be done by the Ministry of Energy and the Consortium, which includes Westinghouse, EDF Trading and Polenergia. The consortium won the tender for participation in the project under the Minister of Energy I. Nasalik.
The project went through all the necessary procedures. It is known that the volume of investments of the Consortium in it is approximately 270 million euros. At the same time, according to the head of Energoatom, the date of signing the partnership agreement was constantly postponed. This time, in December last year, the Ministry of Energy again postponed the signing of the agreement on the construction of the energy bridge to mid-2021.
With the proceeds from the export of electricity from the Khmelnitsky NPP to Poland, Energoatom has planned the construction of power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant. At the moment, the Polish side does not support the implementation of this project. In the medium term, it is planned to synchronize the energy systems of Europe and Ukraine.
