Zaporizhia’s top officials were sent to the “Myrotvorets” base after the scandal regarding the alleged embezzlement of humanitarian aid by regional officials.
Details
The Secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council, Anatoliy Kurtev, the head of the Zaporizhia OVA Oleksandr Starukh, his deputy Zlata Nekrasova, and the deputy of the Zaporizhia Regional Council, Viktor Shcherbyna, got into the base. All of them at “Mirotvorka” are accused of looting.
Quote
“In collusion with a group of officials of the Zaporizhia Military-Civil Administration, during the war with the Russian-fascist invaders, using his official position, he engaged in looting of humanitarian aid, in particular, international aid,” – it is noted in the profiles of the officials.
Let’s add
The names of the specified officials are mentioned in the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court regarding the permission to conduct searches, a copy of which was published by ex-Nardeput Ihor Mosiychuk. It should be noted that in total, almost 20 officials are mentioned in the resolution. At the same time, suspicions have not been announced against the specified persons.
Later, People’s Deputy from Zaporozhye Yuliya Yatsyk joined the investigation of this case. She sent parliamentary appeals to the head of the OVA Starukh with the demand to explain how the received humanitarian aid was distributed. At the same time, Yatsyk noted, Zaporizhzhia law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings regarding the kidnapping of a humanitarian, but regional prosecutor Viktor Prykhodko brought the case to a dead end, changing its investigation.
According to ex-Nardeput Ihor Mosiychuk, Zaporizhzhia law enforcement officers covered schemes involving embezzlement of humanitarian aid, which is why the case was not properly investigated.
We would like to add that the Prosecutor General’s Office is currently conducting inspections in prosecutor’s offices, in particular, in the frontline regions. The Law Enforcement Committee of the Verkhovna Rada believes that the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Viktor Prykhodyk , should also be investigated .
