Italy on Monday froze some properties owned by two Russian oligarchs at the luxury seaside resort of Portofino, in Sirmion on Lake Garda and in Rome, two sources told Reuters, who are directly informed about it .

Guardia di Finanza police confiscated Altakyar’s villa, a mansion with a park on Cape Portofino on the Ligurian Sea, as well as property and a car in Rome from Eduard Khudainatov, the former head of Russian energy giant Rosneft.
One of the sources said that Khudaynatov was included in the “black” list of EU sanctions after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, adding that his assets are worth about 57 million euros ($ 55,86 million).
In May, Italian police confiscated a luxury yacht worth about $700 million, which is believed to have belonged to Khudaynatov and which was contacted by Putin in the media.
As part of a separate operation, police froze a property in Sirmion, a city on Lake Garda in northeastern Italy worth more than 15 million euros. One of the sources said that it belongs to Grigory Beryozkin, chairman of the board of the Russian private equity group Esn.

In March and April, Italy confiscated villas and yachts worth more than 900 million euros from wealthy Russians who regularly came to the country on vacation and purchased real estate in many prestigious places.
According to the updated official list of Guardia di Finanza, the total value of assets currently seized in Italy from Russian oligarchs is more than 1.7 billion euros.
