The seaports of Ukraine in January-December 2020 increased the transshipment of ore by 18.5% compared to the same period in 2019 – up to 48 million tons. The transshipment of ferrous metals increased by 8.6% – up to 16.6 million tons. operational data of the Administration of the seaports of Ukraine.
In total, over 12 months the port workers handled 158.9 million tons of cargo. This exceeds the figure for January-December 2019 by 0.7%. Among them:
cereals – 48 million tons;
sunflower oil – 6.2 million tons;
oil – 2.15 million tons.
In the structure of cargo turnover, export cargo is the leader – 122.84 million tons (+ 1.5% compared with January-December 2019). Transshipment of coastal cargo increased by 10.7% – to 2.37 million tons, while import and transit cargo, on the contrary, fell – to 23.63 million tons (-8.6%) and 10 million tons (-9.1%) respectively.
Transshipment of containers for the year increased by 4.1% – up to 1.05 million TEU.
The transshipment of iron ore through the seaports of Ukraine in 2019 increased by 33% compared to the previous year – up to 37.3 million tons. In addition, Ukrainian ports handled 15.3 million tons of ferrous metals and 6.7 million tons of coal during the year.
