Russia has modernized Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. This was announced by military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko .

“Kamikaze Shahed-136 UAVs have been upgraded in Russia. As you know, these drones have an inertial guidance system. Nevertheless, in the last downed devices, GLONASS control units were recorded. Thanks to this unit, the accuracy of the Shahed-136 is significantly increased. Previously, the effective range of their application was about 170-200 km, now it is increased, thanks to additional adjustment,” Kovalenko wrote in Telegram.

According to the expert, modernization still does not allow you to control the drone in real time. In addition, due to the placement of an additional unit, the warhead in it decreased. The Shahed-136 with the GLONASS unit has a warhead of approximately 30 kg.
