As Ukrenergo explained, this will help reduce the load on the power grid and give power engineers time to repair equipment damaged by terrorist attacks.
Ukrainians were urged to keep their phones charged and pass on information to those who do not use social networks. And remember that lean power consumption can help avoid forced outages.
Supplement
Russia targeted energy facilities in Ukraine in October. After massive strikes since October 10, it was reported that a third of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure had suffered. After another attack on October 22, Ukrenergo reported that the scale of damage from the strikes was comparable or greater than the consequences of October 10-12.
