The Verkhovna Rada registered a bill banning the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of Ukraine. This was announced on Facebook by MP Iryna Friz .
Details
“Today (…) registered a draft law aimed at banning the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of Ukraine,” Friz wrote.
According to her, the draft law refers to a complete ban on any religious organizations and institutions that are part of or recognize in any form subordination in canonical, organizational, and other matters of the ROC.
“The purpose of the draft law is to prevent threats to Ukraine’s national security and ensure order, because for too long the ROC has carried out outright anti-Ukrainian and subversive activities and advocated for all the actions of the criminal Russian regime,” Friz said.
She added that the activities of Orthodox religious organizations in Ukraine should be carried out taking into account the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos granted to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian state.
