The demolition is over, now they simply take out the memories of hundreds of thousands of Mariupol residents and evidence of the genocide of Ukrainians to the landfill. Advisor to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko recently showed a video of the destruction of the drama theater and noted that in this way the occupiers were trying to hide evidence of bombing the building.
Airstrike on Mariupol Theater
On March 16, Russian occupation forces dropped a heavy-duty bomb on the Mariupol Drama Theater.
As you know, the theater building in Mariupol was used as a bomb shelter. According to various sources, from 500 people to 1200 civilians were hiding in it in the days before March 16.
On March 18, the Mariupol City Council reported that the bomb shelters under the theater building survived and about 130 people were rescued from it. As of March 25, the city council said in a statement that “according to eyewitnesses” about 300 people were killed in the bombing of the theater.
The Associated Press agency conducted its own investigation and concluded that up to 600 people could have died as a result of the airstrike.
According to satellite images, in front of and behind the building of the Mariupol Drama Theater, two days before the enemy bombing, there were inscriptions in large letters in Russian “Children”, which were visible from above.
