Volyn City Council Deputy Oleksandr Pyrozhyk said on Facebook Taras Melnyk, a Hero of the Moscow-Ukrainian War and a fighter of the Legion of Freedom (Shah), was laid to rest in Lutsk.
From June 2015 to August 2016, Taras Shah fought sacrificially against the Russian occupiers in the 24th and 53rd brigades as captains.
“He mercilessly beat the Moscow occupiers, received combat wounds, became a war in
valid. He was ill for a long time and was in a military hospital. In the end, the war took the life of a young man,” the statement said.
Taras Melnyk (“Shah”) was buried in the city cemetery of the regional center of Volyn. In addition to relatives and friends, members of his native Maryanivka, deputies of the Volyn regional, Lutsk city and district and Gorokhiv city councils from the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union, and veterans of the Volyn Legion gathered to take the Hero on his last earthly journey and honor his memory.
