The Trump administration in the United States has dealt another serious blow to Huawei. According to a Reuters report, the US government has notified several Huawei suppliers of the revocation of licenses to supply components to the Chinese company, which were issued to them earlier.
The bad news doesn’t end there. The administration also plans to reject dozens of new applications for licenses to supply components and services to Huawei. This was reported to Reuters by the US Semiconductor Industry Association. Other sources make it clear that the United States has revoked eight licenses from four companies. In addition to Intel, the permission will also lose the Japanese manufacturer of flash memory chips Kioxia Corp.
Companies that have received notice of license revocation have 20 days to respond to the US Department of Commerce. The executive department also has 45 days to change the decision, otherwise it will become final. After that, companies will have another 45 days to appeal the decision.
In this way, the United States is trying to weaken the world’s largest manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, which it considers a threat to national security.
