Porsche has published a teaser announcing the imminent “addition to the family” of the Taycan. The novelty, which the German brand has prepared, may be the cheapest version of the electric car, still available only in China. It will be the fourth edition of the Taycan alongside the 4S, Turbo and Turbo S.
From the image in which the model is visible in the foreground on the left, it is a new version of the sedan. At the same time, this year Porsche also plans to show the Taycan in the station wagon body with the Cross Turismo prefix, the premiere of which had to be postponed due to the coronavirus and low demand for a standard electric car.
Perhaps the first to join the Taycan family is the basic sedan modification. Last summer, it appeared on the Chinese market, but over time, Porsche promised to expand its geography. This version is equipped with one electric motor located behind the rear axle and delivering up to 408 hp. It is powered by a 79.2 kilowatt-hour battery, which allows it to travel up to 414 kilometers without recharging on the NEDC cycle.
For a surcharge, you can install the Performance Battery Plus package with a larger battery and increase the range of the electric car to 489 kilometers, and the output to 476 hp. in overboost mode. Acceleration from zero to first “hundred” takes 5.4 seconds for such a Taycan, the maximum speed is 230 km / h.
