Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 24, 2021 – Society
On Sunday, January 24, Ukraine celebrates Foreign Intelligence Day. This holiday was established in accordance with the Presidential Decree of November 22, 2018.
The date of the holiday was chosen not by chance: on January 24, 1919, the first unit of national intelligence was established in the Ukrainian People’s Republic. Since then, a department of foreign information has been set up within the Political Department of the UPR Directory to conduct intelligence work on enemies active against the UPR, as well as on countries that are potential adversaries.
On the day of the professional holiday, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Valery Kondratyuk, noted the following:
Dear officers, employees, veterans of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine!
I sincerely congratulate you on our professional holiday – the Day of Foreign Intelligence of Ukraine!
Ukrainian intelligence has always demonstrated its capacity, efficiency, and enormous potential, based on true patriots, brave and courageous individuals, ready to sacrifice themselves for a better future of a free, independent, and sovereign Ukraine.
Today, I am extremely pleased to write with you the next – a new page of foreign intelligence. As a single intelligence family, we feel our responsibility to serve together for the right to live in an independent and united country. For Ukraine, for the Service, for their relatives and friends.
The success of intelligence depends on you: honest and courageous, professionally trained and patriotic. Thank you for your dedicated work. We are on the right path because we are united in our desire not only to protect the national interests of the state but also to change the world and ourselves for the better.
Congratulating you on today’s holiday, I wish all of us health, well-being and well-being, new successes, and achievements in serving the Ukrainian people! Glory to Ukraine!
