Zaporozhye Automobile Plant will master the production of new Kia cars. In particular, the domestic enterprise will be engaged in the SKD assembly of two models – the Rio Sedan and the Rio X crossover.
It is noted that the presentation of new products will take place on February 2 online, while dealers are already taking pre-orders for new cars produced by ZAZ.
It is not known where the car kits for assembling cars at ZAZ will come from: Kia has car factories not only in South Korea itself, but also, for example, in Europe (Germany, Slovakia), Russia, and China. However, the Rio X crossover is produced only at two enterprises of the South Korean brand – in the Russian Federation and in the Middle Kingdom, so the circle of guesses can be narrowed down to these two countries.
Since 2020, the ZAZ plant has been producing Lada cars (in particular, the Granta, Vesta, Largus models ), as well as the Renault Arkana crossover. They are also assembled from ready-made vehicle kits. Over the past year, in total, the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant assembled a little less than a thousand of these cars.
