Stress, diet, and alcohol abuse negatively affect memory.
Specialists of the Kiev Center for Public Health named the main factors that impair memory. Doctors associate this with Alzheimer’s disease, vitamin deficiency in the body, depression, overwork, and insomnia.
Experts call for good nutrition, as memory is weakened due to a lack of nutrients. B vitamins, including B12, are especially helpful. Low-calorie diets also lead to impaired memory.
The stable functioning of the brain is negatively affected by constant stress and physical overwork caused by excessive workload or in the gym. Further, they call depression, since a depressed state leads to a loosening of the psyche, while the perception of information worsens.
Chronic diseases, including diseases of the liver, kidneys, and thyroid gland, leading to the poor blood supply to the brain, as a result of which memory impairment occurs. Diabetes mellitus also has a negative effect.
Memorization of information also deteriorates due to lack of sleep, as insomnia prevents the brain from recovering its functions during the night.
Psychostimulants and alcohol abuse negatively affect memory. The same applies to traumatic brain injuries and progressive degenerative processes in the brain due to age-related changes.
