Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – February 10, 2021 – Local News
The head of the Ukrainian government held an official meeting with the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg. Politicians organized a joint press conference for the media.
It is known that in the framework of bilateral talks, the NATO representative officially supported Ukraine’s actions to reform the security and defense sector, as well as the fight against corruption.
Moreover, Stoltenberg stated that by doing so, the state is bringing Ukraine closer to NATO membership.
“The more Ukraine implements new reforms, the closer it is to NATO and membership standards. I cannot give a specific date, but I can assure you that we will support Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, “he said, noting the importance of democratic reforms within the country.
NATO believes that China’s increasingly active cooperation with Russia may have consequences for the security of its allies.
The threat was discussed back in December during a meeting of NATO leaders, when, for the first time in the alliance’s history, an agreement was reached to unite “to address China’s security growth”.
