A new study recently published in the journal Psychology of Sport and Exercise has shown that music can distract people from the pain associated with exercise. That’s why training with tunes can be longer and more intense.

“There’s a general belief that music is good,” says Dr. David Alter, a cardiologist. “But we need to prove it.”
Recent studies confirm his point of view. Thus, the work of 2020, presented in the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, showed that music’s therapy relieves pain, anxiety, and depression in people recovering from heart surgery.
Similarly, people with chest pain episodes shortly after a heart attack who listened to music for 30 minutes a day for seven years reported less anxiety and chest pain and had lower mortality rates than those who did not receive music therapy enjoyed.
