Mamaliga is a dish of Moldovan, Romanian and Ukrainian cuisines, which is a hard-boiled porridge made of cornflour. This dish is special in that it differs in taste and texture from traditional porridges, and this porridge used to be cut with waxed thread or a special wooden knife.

This porridge will be a great breakfast.
Ingredients:
corn grits – 400 g
water – 4 glasses
butter
sour cream
cheese
salt to taste
Preparation:
Dry the cornflour a little in a preheated oven.
Pour water into a saucepan, add salt, and set on fire. When the water boils, gradually add the cereal and stir at the same time with a spoon or whisk so that there are no lumps. When the porridge thickens, reduce the heat. Cook it for 25 minutes.
When the porridge is ready, take a spoon and stuff it a little in the pan. Put the plate on the pan and turn it over. The porridge will move away from the bottom of the pan in the form of a small circle. Leave it to cool a bit.
Before serving, cut the porridge into pieces and serve with cheese and melted butter or sour cream.
