The situation in Belarus:
Protests have been taking place in Belarus since August 9 last year, when the presidential election took place. According to the CEC, incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko won them by a significant margin. The second place was taken by the representative of the opposition Svitlana Tikhanovska, who did not recognize the results. The most massive protests took place after the announcement of the voting results, in the first days they resulted in clashes with security forces. Few local protests are ongoing, but the opposition is calling for the resumption of large-scale rallies and marches in the spring.
