Ukrainian swordsmen Bohdan Nikishyn, Roman Svichkar, Ihor Reizlin, and Anatoliy Gerry finished second in the team competition at the World Cup in Kazan.

In the quarterfinal stage, the Ukrainians dealt with the Japanese team – 29:25. In the match for the right to reach the final, the “yellow-blues” defeated the Chinese team – 39:36.
However, despite seven injections of advantage before the last fight, it was not enough for Anatoliy Gerry to hold on to the pressure of the formidable Italian Marco Fikeri in the final confrontation. The 43:44 defeat led the Ukrainians to win a set of silver awards.
The Ukrainian team secured the Olympic license in the quarterfinals when they defeated Japan.
Reislin won a silver medal at this stage of the World Cup in Kazan.
