16,669 New Cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced that in Ukraine, 1.596 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have been registered, the daily increase for March 24 – 16.7 thousand, the most since the beginning of the year. For the third day in a row, the anti-record for fatalities per day – 362.

In Ukraine, 16,669 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus disease were detected in one day. In particular, 786 children and 446 health workers fell ill.

According to him, 4,838 people were hospitalized during the day; 362 fatalities were recorded, 6,748 people recovered.

In addition, 128,615 tests were performed per day (including 57,818 by PCR, 22,950 by ELISA, and 47,847 by rapid tests for SARS-CoV-2 antigen).

During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:

sick – 1,596,575 people;

recovered – 1,283,020 people;

fatalities – 31,135;

PCR tests were performed – 7,836,049.

During the day, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Kyiv (1,267), Odesa (1,235), Zhytomyr (1,136), Lviv (1,032), and Khmelnytsky (989) oblasts.

Zhytomyr region – 1,136 cases / 730 vaccinations;

Transcarpathian – 668 cases / 490 vaccinations;

Zaporozhye region – 488 cases / 620 vaccinations;

Ivano-Frankivsk region – 512 cases / 784 vaccinations;

Kyiv region – 872 cases / 1,290 vaccinations;

Kirovohrad region – 184 cases / 380 vaccinations;

Luhansk region – 141 cases / 280 vaccinations;

Lviv region – 1,032 cases / 1,030 vaccinations;

Mykolaiv region – 377 cases / 690 vaccinations

Odessa region – 1235 cases / 470 vaccinations;

Poltava region – 521 cases / 840 vaccinations;

Rivne region – 626 cases / 550 vaccinations;

Sumy region – 613 cases / 907 vaccinations;

Ternopil region – 531 cases / 870 vaccinations;

Kharkiv region – 918 cases / 350 vaccinations;

Kherson region – 168 cases / 1,000 vaccinations;

Khmelnytsky region – 989 cases / 250 vaccinations;

Cherkasy region – 509 cases / 1,000 vaccinations;

Chernivtsi region – 543 cases / 320 vaccinations;

Chernihiv region – 548 cases / 580 vaccinations.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts, and the city of Sevastopol are missing.

Vaccination was carried out by 183 mobile immunization teams and 457 vaccination points.
