Four Injuries in an Explosion at a Factory in Japan

Four people were injured in an explosion and subsequent fire at a Sakai Chemical Industry plant in Japan.

According to the channel, the message about the explosion came from one of the residents from the neighboring district to the plant at 07:45 local time (1:45 Kyiv time). A fire broke out at the plant after the explosion. Firefighters and police arrived at the scene.

According to the Nishinippon Shimbun newspaper, citing the company, 18 people were working at the plant at the time of the explosion.

The Sakai Chemical Industry plant is located in the city of Iwaki in northeastern Japan. The company specializes in the production of zinc powder, which is used in the cosmetics industry.

In early May, an outbreak occurred at a chemical plant in the Iranian city of Qom. According to the fire service, more than 100 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire. As a result, the fire was prevented from spreading to tanks where alcohol and other flammable liquids are stored. However, a fire truck caught fire during the operation, and two firefighters were injured.
