Recent opinion polls have shown an increase in voter support for Volodymyr Zelensky. Viktor Zamyatin, director of political and legal programs at the Razumkov Center, analyzed the reasons for this trend.

The expert reminded that from February to April in Ukraine an incredible expansion of the activity of the National Security and Defense Council began, although at the beginning of Zelensky’s term this institution was considered underestimated. It was the National Security and Defense Council that initiated the closure of the so-called “Medvedchuk” TV channels and the imposition of sanctions on their owners.
We also remember the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to nationalize Motorsich. The very fact that Chinese investors entered the company provoked a mixed reaction from our leading Euro-Atlantic partners. to increase the level of trust and electoral positions of both Zelensky and the Servant of the People-oriented party, he said.
However, Zamyatin stressed that such actions have a point effect, which ends very quickly. Therefore, if the current government does not continue to make efforts, this trend may change during May and June. According to the expert, the mentioned actions, including the political persecution of Medvedchuk, currently do not resemble a consistent and logical policy aimed at achieving concrete results for social development.
